Monday, January 23 to Thursday January 26

Happy Thursday families! How nice it was to have a full week back in school. We could start practicing routines again and get back in the swing of things.

Riggs: This week for Riggs we've learned ar (the pirate phonogram), ck (k two-letter k used only after a single vowel which says ah, eh, ih, aw, uh), ed (ed, d, t past tense ending) and or.

Saxon Math: We have been learning how to number a clock face, how to add 2 to an even number and how to add 2 to an odd number .

Core Knowledge: We have been learning about past presidents: George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Abraham Lincoln and Theodore Roosevelt.

Dates to remember:
  • Monday January 30th, Wednesday February 1st and Thursday February 2nd are the days that Kindergarten is signed up for MAPS testing. The week before if you have access to a computer either via your personal one or one at the library feel free to explore how to navigate a mouse. Our lab computers are not touch screen :D. It was quite cute to see many try.
  • Friday, February 3rd and Friday February 10th are conferences. Here is the sign up link: http://www.signupgenius.com/go/4090e49a9ae2ba3fc1-february
  • Monday, February 20th is Presidents Day. There is no school.
  • Friday, February 24th is a school field trip day. We have Critter Cabana, Zoo School and Reptile Man coming. Let me know if you want to come!
  • Friday, April 21st and Friday, May 19th are our last two school field trip days. Field trips to be determined.
