We are learning about life in the olden days and life on the Oregon Trail. We know people traveled west for many reasons, especially because they wanted some “elbow room.” Life on the trail was hard and exciting: it was an adventure. To help us understand the very long trip, we walked ONE mile on Tuesday.

We also talked about what they used for fuel (buffalo chips), what they might have done for entertainment (sing songs, tell stories, and play games), and how they had to leave family, friends, and belongings behind, but it was all worth it!
