1. practice new words x3 more on homework page
2. practice new phonogram at least a few times
3. practice any missed spelling words on returned spelling test
I have added a .pdf of flash cards of the first list of spelling words under "Riggs Help" above. You could print a couple copies of this to make all sorts of games: Old Maid (just pull one card of one of the pairs), Go Fish, memory, 52 card pickup (you can't keep it unless you read it), for practice in the car, in the bathroom, and MORE!
Saxon 1 Math:
Next week we will focus on adding two-digit numbers without regrouping using dimes and pennies. We will also touch on the concept of area and how to estimate and measure area.
Core Knowledge:
We will continue our study of the elements of art, focusing on line, texture, and patterns.
Please mark on your calendar that you and family and friends are cordially invited to a gallery opening of the Kindergarten Art Show, which will be on Thursday, March 31, about 2:00. You will be able to appreciate the finest art from some up-and-coming artists in the Clackamas area. Artists will be on hand to explain their methods and inspiration. Light refreshments will be served. It will be very fancy.

We studied and mastered more spelling words. So far, we can correctly read, spell, and appropriately mark: me, do, and, go, at, an, a, it, is, she, can, see, run, the, in, so.
Saxon 1 Math:
Lessons 70 through 72: Sorting common objects; using a ruler to draw a line segment; what is a line segment; drawing a picture to solve a problem; tallying and counting by fives.
Core Knowledge:
We started our study of the elements of art, and will be learning this, and MORE!

We celebrated Dr. Seuss' birthday by reading some of the books that inspired the kindergarteners above. Our student teacher, Mrs. Hoskins did a great job!
We also went to see Bad Kitty. It was pretty silly!
Finally, we have been GOBBLING UP Magic Treehouse books (TWO Jacks from Magic Treehouse came to class today!). We are lucky there are so many of them, and that they are so great!
