Friendly Reminders:
Write your child's name or initials or last name in red sweaters, please! You pay money for them, they don't get claimed, then they end up in the uniform closet, and you have to pay more money to get them back!
The week ahead:
Tuesday: field trip! Second graders should come in regular uniforms or field trip t-shirts (NO jeans, please!), and be prepared to spend almost all day outside (raincoats, hats, mud boots, etc.). Remember, it gets windy in the Gorge. Be sure to send a bigger lunch; there's something about being outside that makes kids hungrier than usual.
Thursday: VIP Day! Be sure that your second grader's VIP knows to be in the gym at 8:00 to enjoy the All School Assembly. They will then get a welcome by Mrs. Denman, and then make their way down to the classroom to do a fun activity with their second graders. The VIP part of the day will end at 9:30. VIPs should know that they may, but do not have to, take their second grade host to the book fair (I will review manners with second graders re: people buying you things, but they should hear about it at home, too).
Riggs:
We will continue our review of phonograms, getting into the multi-letter phonograms, practicing them in handwriting, ASL (American Sign Language), and orally.
