Happy One Hundredth Day of School!

Second grade has been in session for 100 awesome days so far this year!  Second grade worked very hard and diligently on a major undertaking to celebrate the day: a book with ONE HUNDRED PAGES!  We have been focusing on compliments and kindness in second grade, and the older students are also learning about "Finding Kind."

Here are some of the ways second graders know to be kind:
Be helpful to others.
Be safe around babies when they are crawling.
Be kind to your little brother or sister or if you don't have one be kind to Mom and Dad.
If a friend falls, help them up.
Don't hit people.  Be safe.
Being generous is kind, like giving.
Help your friend if they are hurt.
If someone is not listening, give them a friendly reminder.
Share your things.
Keep your hands to yourself.
Give homeless people some money.
When someone's feeling down, cheer them up!
If someone's lost something, help them.
Always give people pencils.  (If they need one in class and you have extras.)
Be kind to people by being friendly.
Don't waste so many papers!
Listen patiently.
I loan my football to a friend.
Help somebody carry something if it's heavy.
Be cheerful and help your friends be cheerful during math!
If someone's zipper is down tell them to zip it up.*
Be helpful to a neighbor.
Be inclusive in games.
Be respectful by using teachers' supplies nicely!
Clean not just your mess.
AND MORE!!

*We talked about discretion as well as the fact that WE wouldn't want to go through the day with our zip down or spinach in our teeth, so we wouldn't want it for our friends.  Golden Rule and all that.

Look at all of those rainbows!
