Chinese Garden Field Trip

We had a great field trip yesterday to Lan Su Chinese Garden and the House of Louie for lunch.  Thank you to the parents who took the time to come and learn with us!  If you got some good pictures, please email them to me!

It was cold, but everyone came prepared mentally and with lots of warm clothes; thank you for supporting our commitment to toughness at CHPCS!

Wenny Liaoshi met us at the Garden and led tours, which made it a much better learning experience than I could have provided.  Xie Xie Liaoshi!

We then walked to the House of Louie for a delicious hot lunch (and tea!).  It was nice to warm up, and have a relaxed lunch with friends.  I am proud to say that every child tried every dish, and every one found something they would eat.  Adventurous eating is a life skill we develop in second grade!

We then walked to the gates of Chinatown for a picture.  Clearly, my camera was done for the day.  If you have a better group picture, please email it to me so I can switch it out!

The VISION of Cascade Heights:  Cascade Heights fosters the development of the whole child through a rigorous, multisensory, experiential education. Young scholars gain cultural literacy and an appreciation of multiple perspectives through a cumulative, integrated, and objectives-based education. As a small community, we take pride in ourselves and our school, and provide a safe, positive space for young minds, bodies, and hearts to grow.

The MISSION of Cascade Heights Public Charter School  is to inspire the social, emotional, academic, physical, personal, and ethical growth of children and partner with parents who share the same mission to prepare them to be members of a global society.

Our school is a school of choice, and our school is based on a charter which stipulates what curricula we use, including relevant, purposeful, field trips that involve a lot of learning.  Committing to our school is at least in part committing to our curricula, mission, and vision.  Thank you for your vote of confidence!
